5 faith-based affirmations for each Enneagram type
I’ve been a certified Enneagram coach for a few years now and I’ve noticed some things. As humans, we have a tendency to be super enthusiastic about personality typing systems like the Enneagram. We start learning all kinds of things about ourselves and well, if you’re anything like me, people are just fascinating. But the one regret I have in my own life and for those I coach is that we tend to put it aside after awhile and not think much about it at all. One of the reasons I was drawn to the Enneagram was the unique growth pathways it provided for each Enneagram type and how it offered movement with in the map — meaning we weren’t meant to stand still in our type, but keep becoming the healthiest version of our type.
One of the applications I’ve found it to be most profound is when it comes to our relationship with God. In his book, The Gift of Being Yourself, David Benner says, “The goal of the spiritual journey is the transformation of self. This requires knowing both our self and God,” The more we cultivate God awareness and self awareness at the same time, the more we connect to God and live for him out of the overflow of our walk with Him. And it’s precisely why I love writing and talking about faith + the Enneagram. If you already know your Enneagram type, I’ve cultivated this list with you in mind so you can apply your faith life to your everyday steps. And if you don’t know your Enneagram type, it’s a great list to grab and see what speaks to your own personal journey.
